Getting Married in Geneseo
Geneseo was founded in 1836 as a Christian colony by seven Congregationalist families from Geneseo and Bergen, New York, seeking to establish a church in the wilderness. It sits 20 miles east of the Quad Cities at the crossroads of Interstate 80, U.S. Route 6, and Illinois Route 82, with 6,539 people at the 2020 census, and it is known for its Victorian architecture and its historically successful football and music programs.
