Outdoor movie screen rental in Dubuque
Bring movie night to your next event with Absolute Music. We offer movie-screen rentals within 80 miles of Dubuque. Tell us where you want to show your movie, how many people you expect and the date you have in mind. We can discuss the setup and what your venue needs before you book.
What is included?
Our movie-screen rental includes a 14-foot inflatable screen, projector, DVD player and sound system. A host can be added for an additional charge. Without a host, you are responsible for picking up, setting up and returning the equipment. If you add a host, the host delivers, sets up and tears down the equipment.

What does the venue need?
Choose a location with enough open space for the screen, viewing area and secure anchoring. Indoor setups may be possible if the venue has enough room. The setup requires a 20-amp electrical outlet within 25 feet of the screen. Contact us before booking so we can check the location, access and power.
What happens if the weather changes?
Absolute Music decides whether the equipment may be used when the weather turns unfavorable. A significant chance of rain, wind or other weather events may mean we do not allow equipment use, postpone setup or stop the screening. We will tell you whether the equipment can be used. This applies whether or not you add a host.
Can we move to a rain date?
If weather forces your event to move, you get one replacement date at no extra rental charge. You may reschedule for up to one year from the original event date. Please give us at least 24 hours notice; the replacement date is subject to availability.
Who provides the movie?
You provide the movie from a lawful source and arrange any required public-performance permission. Please check the title and playback format with us before the event. For family events, choose a G- or PG-rated movie. Contact us first if you would like to show a film with a different rating.
Dates are only 100% confirmed once we receive a signed contract and your non-refundable retainer.
Do we need a movie license?
Public movie screenings require permission from the copyright owner or an authorized licensing provider, even when admission is free. Owning, renting or downloading a movie does not by itself give you permission to show it publicly. Holding an event on private property does not, by itself, make it exempt.
Before you advertise or book a screening, contact the movie’s rights holder or an authorized licensing provider, such as Swank Motion Pictures, to confirm what permission your specific event needs. Check that any permission covers your title, event date, venue and intended audience, and ask about advertising and rescheduling restrictions.
Our equipment rental does not include a public-performance license. The event organizer is responsible for arranging and paying for any required permission.
