music selections for reception

keep in mind that the version of the song uploaded to youtube may be different than the version of the song you hear on the radio, on spotify, or on the CD. we will use the version of the song you provide. so if the link you submit has talking in the beginning of the video, we will look for the version of that song with the talking. also, please note that although your pasted link might not have the letters capitalized as in the youtube link, it will still work on our end.

wedding party introduction at the reception

customary wedding dances

i.e. our dj announces that it’s time for all married couples to get up and join the bride and groom on the dance floor. after the first bar or two of the song, we announce, “anyone married less than 6 hours, please take a seat.” after a few more bars we will announce, “anyone married less than 1 year take a seat,” etc, until one couple remains
this is the last song of the reception
i.e. couples are seated on chairs in the middle of the dance floor, back-to-back. newlyweds will have one of their own shoes and one of their partner’s shoes. a series of questions are asked. This is another way for the guests to get to know the couple, but most of all it’s for laughs and comic relief. the best part is that the couple typically doesn’t know the questions ahead of time, which is a lot of fun!

wedding party information

please phonetically spell any last names that are not common. please note that we will double-check the names and order of the entire wedding party prior to the introduction.
this is where you tell us all the details of the big day. if you have an itinerary, please make certain to either copy it here or email it to us at info@absolutemusicdjs.com. please share as much information as possible in this field. this is a great place to tell us general music suggestions such as no chicken dance but make sure we play the hokey pokey, 90s hop-hop, old country,3 slow songs, 1 polka song, etc.
the song request cards are business card sized. we would place one on each table for easy song requests. guest fills out the song and turns it in to the dj. the dj uses their discretion on whether to play the request.
