The history and charm of the century-old barn still remain. The wrap-around deck looks out to rolling hills and provides a perfect area to sip wine and watch the sunset. The old barn is original, not duplicated. It is beautifully decorated with tables and chairs giving a charming touch as you gather in a home-type atmosphere creating lifetime memories. This is a great location for social hour after a wedding ceremony. Garden Valley Gatherings has a liquor license and can serve beer, wines, liquors, and specializes in homemade lemonade. We have the ability to serve your signature drinks in the barn and throughout your evening.

In 1869, Marie Horstmann signed a property transfer for her and her husband which became the original parcel of the Horstmann Homestead.
In the coming years, 2 parcels were homesteaded, several parcels were purchased, and the rest were acquired when other homesteaders left the properties.
Now, the Horstmann Homestead properties encompass its own little coulee in the Driftless region of Wisconsin, now known as the La Crosse County.
Over the years it was a diversified operation, consisting of milking cows, raising sheep and hogs, and until recently the raising of beef cattle and the growing of crops to support these endeavors.
Brian and Patricia Horstmann are fifth generation owners of the property today. Along with their daughters they have branched out with this new endeavor of an event barn.

Our lodge has five bedrooms—each bedroom has two full-size beds and a full, private bathroom. RV parking is also available.
Located in Blair, WI, we’re perfect for meet-in-the-middle gatherings for Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Rochester, northern Iowa, and northwest Illinois areas. More locally, we’re centered between Whitehall, Arcadia, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Osseo, Winona, Black River Falls, and Tomah.
