7 Hills Ballroom
Formerly Millwork Ballroom | Dubuque Weddings | Absolute Music DJing Since 1993
A Wedding in Dubuque’s Millwork District
If you knew this venue as Millwork Ballroom, the name to look for now is 7 Hills Ballroom. The ballroom is inside the Novelty Iron Works building in Dubuque’s Historic Millwork District, with a setting rooted in the neighborhood’s industrial past.
Absolute Music provides wedding DJ and photo booth services in Dubuque and the surrounding area. When your reception plans bring you to 7 Hills Ballroom, we can help with the music, introductions and dance-floor moments that make the evening yours.
The Ballroom, Not the Brewpub
7 Hills Ballroom is a different event space from the smaller 7 Hills Event Center and the brewpub. For a ballroom wedding, use the Washington Street address below when sharing plans with your vendors and guests.
The ballroom’s venue information lists a customizable layout, banquet kitchen, bar, event director and onsite coordinator. Ask its team how the room should be arranged for your dinner, dance floor and entertainment, and confirm what is included for your date.

Tips for Planning Your Ballroom Wedding
- Name the right space. Put “7 Hills Ballroom, 1050 Washington Street” on the information shared with your vendors.
- Plan the dance floor early. Include the DJ, speakers and any photo booth in the room layout before tables are final.
- Talk through the transitions. Share the timing for entrances, dinner, toasts and special dances with the venue and your DJ.
- Ask about the full setup. Confirm access, setup and teardown details with the venue team so each vendor knows the plan.
