A Riverfront Wedding in Our Hometown
The Mississippi River is part of what makes Dubuque feel like Dubuque. At the Grand River Center, it becomes part of your wedding day, too. Glass-walled spaces, a riverside patio and a choice of reception rooms give couples different ways to bring that setting into the celebration.
Absolute Music provides wedding DJ and photo booth services in Dubuque and the surrounding area. When you are planning a reception at the Grand River Center, we can help you plan the music, announcements and dance-floor moments around the space you choose.
Choose the Space, Then Plan the Celebration
The all-glass River Room overlooks the Mississippi and has a veranda. The venue offers it for ceremonies and smaller receptions. The Grand Ballroom is another option for dinner and dancing, with a pre-function area and patio for cocktails before guests move into the reception.
Other room combinations and exhibit spaces give you more choices. Ask the venue team which layout fits your guest list, dinner plans and dance floor. A room’s maximum occupancy is not the same as the space left after tables, entertainment and other event features are in place.

Tips for Planning Your Grand River Center Wedding
Map out each part of the day. Tell the venue and your DJ where the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing will happen so everyone can plan the transitions.
Keep the dance floor in the layout. Ask where the DJ and speakers will go before the table plan is final.
Give the photo booth a home. Plan a spot guests can find without blocking doorways or the path between rooms.
Build one timeline. Share the reception order with the venue and your entertainment team, including entrances, toasts and special dances.
