A Wedding in the Heart of Dubuque
Hotel Julien Dubuque brings a wedding celebration into the Old Main District, with historic surroundings and guest rooms at the same address as the reception. For couples who want a downtown wedding, that makes the hotel a place to plan more than an evening. Guests can settle in, celebrate and stay overnight without moving to a second property.
Absolute Music provides wedding DJ and photo booth services in Dubuque and the surrounding area. Once your space and date are set at Hotel Julien, we can help plan the music, introductions, toasts and dancing around your reception timeline.
Plan the Reception Around Your Guests
The hotel has a wedding and special events team to guide couples through the venue plans. Its wedding information includes a custom room layout, catering and options for overnight guests. Ask the team which space and table plan work for your guest list while leaving room for your dance floor and entertainment.
Think about how the evening moves, too. Where will guests gather for cocktails? Where do the toasts happen? Where should the photo booth sit? Getting those details into the room plan helps your venue and entertainment teams work from the same picture.

Tips for Planning a Hotel Julien Wedding
Ask about guest rooms early. Confirm room availability and the hotel’s room-block terms for your date.
Make one room plan. Include tables, the dance floor, DJ and photo booth before the layout is final.
Share the timeline. Give the hotel and your DJ the same order for entrances, dinner, toasts and special dances.
Check every upgrade with the venue. Confirm what is allowed before booking effects or decorations. The hotel’s current wedding FAQ prohibits confetti poppers and metallic confetti.
