Getting Married in Mineral Point
Mineral Point was settled in 1827 and became a lead and zinc mining center, drawing Cornish immigrant miners and their families. By 1891 the Mineral Point Zinc Company was operating the largest zinc oxide works in the United States. Today the city’s well-preserved historical character makes it a regional tourist destination, and a Wisconsin Historical Society museum preserves its early lead mining history.
